HPI, Inc. stocks Pacific-Scientific CP Percussion Detonators. These detonators have been used in thousands of Tubing Conveyed Perforating runs. HPI clients have used over 4000 CP Detonators without a no-fire incident attributable to the detonator.

The CP Detonator is packaged in a hermetically sealed stainless steel housing which is rated to 30,000psi at 72ºF. The outside dimensions make it interchangeable with other conventional TCP detonators (i.e., Teledyne). However, it is designed to fire at a lower energy level. The CP Detonator does not contain lead azide yet still initiates secondary high explosives at a 3" separation distance. The thermal stability of the detonator exceeds that of HMX explosive.
